Story

Ingacecilia is a fun, colorful & unique slow fashion brand, that was born from a long-time dream, from a love for playful fashion & from the passion for creating beautiful things by hand.

The business started with earrings in 2019, but has later on expanded with clothing & bags. Everything is handmade at the Ingacecilia studio in Helsinki, Finland.

About me

I’m Inga, the one behind this small and colorful business. I'm an earring addict that gets highly excited by vintage fabrics, leopard print, disco music, thrifting & self-expression through fashion.

I love all things handmade. Besides jewelry making and sewing I also enjoy photographing and playing around with Adobe programs. Ingacecilia is my creative space where I get to combine all of my passions and skills.

I find happiness in the small things in life and this business is my greatest passion. I’m glad that you’ve found your way here!

My sewing journey

I have been actively sewing from second hand materials for over 10 years now. What started as a hobby, eventually turned into my passion.

My goal is to make beautiful use of forgotten fabrics.

I got my very first sewing skills from my beautiful mother, which later on inspired  me into fashion studies.

What got me into upcycled fashion in the first place was the uniqueness of it, but also the rewarding feeling of bringing discarded fabrics back to life. With my products I wish to share the beauty & fun of upcycling.

Why upcycled?

Recycled & upcycled fabrics are the core of all Ingacecilia products.

I studied sewing & fashion design between 2014–2020. During this time I came to realize that the more I keep learning about the industry, the more I hate it.

I wanted to start creating fashion in a more slow, sustainable way, and using existing fabrics over new ones has been one way of doing it.

I have a soft spot for vintage fabrics especially because of the impressive quality and nostalgic prints.
